This non-denominational Faith Community
Nursing Basic Preparation Course offers experienced
registered nurses an educational and spiritual program
based on the core curriculum developed by the
International Parish Nurse Resource Center in St Louis,
MO. and revised in 2009. While hosted by Catholic
Charities, Oklahoma City, this educational program is a
multi-denominational spiritual program organized to assist
all faith communities to grow toward wholistic health from
a global perspective. The Basic Preparation Course
enables registered nurse participants to:
1. Examine and nurture personal spiritual development.
2. Gain an understanding of the theoretical knowledge
necessary to begin practice as a faith community
nurse who emphasizes health and healing within the
faith community and the larger community.
3. Discuss the various roles of the faith community
nurse in practice.
4. Identify a network of continuing education and
support
