ONA Seeking a Representative for the Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board
The Oklahoma Nurses Association is seeking a dedicated nurse member to serve as our representative on the Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board (DVFRB). This important statewide body, established in 2001, operates independently to review domestic violence–related deaths and identify systemic issues that contribute to these tragedies.
The DVFRB plays a critical role in strengthening Oklahoma’s response to domestic violence. Each year, the Board issues recommendations to the Oklahoma Legislature, as well as to agencies and organizations across the domestic violence prevention and protection system. These recommendations aim to improve safety for victims, enhance accountability for perpetrators, and support more effective coordination among service providers.
Serving on the DVFRB offers you a meaningful opportunity to bring your clinical expertise, patient-centered perspective, and on-the-ground experience to statewide policy discussions. The insights of nursing professionals are essential in understanding the complex health, safety, and social factors that intersect in domestic violence cases.
If you are interested in being considered for this appointment, please complete the interest form so ONA may review candidates and submit a nominee to the Office of the Attorney General for official appointment.
Your voice can help shape a safer future for Oklahoma families.
